Team Tango Canada Academy delivered an inspiring and memorable performance at the Canadian Open Pro-Am Championships 2026.

Our Tangueros and Tangueras stepped onto the dance floor with passion, elegance, artistry, and a deep love for Argentine Tango. Beyond the awards, it was a celebration of growth, dedication, musicality, and the true spirit of Tango.

Tango Canada Academy at the Canadian Premiere of Tango Malhar

Tango Canada Academy was proud to be a lead promoter of the Canadian premiere of Tango Malhar, a film by Saya Date, inspired by Argentine Tango and featured at international film festivals, including Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema (BAFICI).

On March 21, 2026, the premiere was held at Dovercourt House, bringing together the vibrant tango community for a memorable evening.

Following the screening, guests enjoyed Milonga Malhar along with an engaging live Q&A session with the filmmaker and cast. The evening was further elevated by a stunning professional tango performance by Gustavo and Florencia, captivating the audience.

Over 120 tangueros and tango enthusiasts from across the Greater Toronto Area attended the premiere and milonga, celebrating the spirit, artistry, and connection of Argentine Tango.

STUDENTS MEDAL TESTS ACCREDITATIONS

TANGO CANADA ACADEMY proudly congratulates Minoo Asgary, Omar Rick Kazi, and Lisa Marie Daulby on successfully passing the Bronze Argentine Tango Students Medal Exams with the Canadian Dancesport Federation (CDF). 

This achievement reflects their unwavering passion, dedication, and commitment to advancing their Tango journey. Congratulations to our students—and to their Professional Certified Coach, Sudhir Gandhi, Fellow, Argentine Tango, Canadian Dance Sport Federation(CDF)—for the hard work, discipline, and artistry that made this milestone possible. 

A heartfelt thank you to André Beaulne, National Examiner, Argentine Tango, CDF, for conducting the examination and providing invaluable feedback to support the students’ continued growth. Our deep appreciation also goes to Christopher Sochnacki, Board Official, CDF, for presenting the certificates and offering inspiring words of encouragement to all students aspiring to take their Tango learning to the next level.
